Thomas Heikes & Heart Radiance

Thomas Heikes is Heart Radiance, an acupuncture clinic infused with somatic, spiritual, ceremonial, and energetic healing modalities to deeply support the body, mind, and spirit.

Treatments are a flowing blend of acupuncture with a deeply embodied energetic healing experience. Together we nourish vitality, transform stagnations, and reclaim heart radiance by guiding the powerful energies that flow in your acupuncture channels combined with medical qi gong energy work, chakra balancing, and biodynamic craniosacral therapy. We often infuse herbal medicine into sessions by calling in plant spirit connections using herbal medicine extracts.

We also weave in guided meditation journeys into energetic obstructions, sound healing is used such as tuning forks and singing bowls, hot stones are placed on the body, as well as herbal smudge therapy and moxibustion. We spend most of the session together with far less time to rest alone than a standard acupuncture session. Classic Chinese body work techniques such as cupping, gua sha, and tui na are often utilized too. And of course we anchor from the Chinese medicine foundations of vital foods that balance your being holistically, and seasonally harmonized lifestyle guidance.

The deepest offerings of Thomas’ heart beyond clinic are sharing explorations, teachings, workshops, and courses about guiding others in developing personal relationships with creation and the great forces that sway our lives, with consciousness and intuition, connecting to the land and to the Earth, cultivating plant spirit allies and herbal medicine knowledge, ceremony and ritual, and creating medicine music.

The longer term vision is to co-create a holistic healing centre set within a small intentional community in the Slocan valley in the Kootenay mountains of BC, Canada.

Holistic medicine is just another expression of consciousness, of love, of medicine plants, of community meals and laughter, of challenges and growth, it’s the pattern language of life applied to health. We seek to help others heal the deepest and most wounded parts of the modern human through experiencing universal connection to source, by remembering the amazing gift of being alive. We dream to be in service by guiding a reclaiming of what life is all about, to heal through connection with the Earth woven together in community, living in sacred alignment.

Thomas is a highly sensitive being, gifted with innate sensitivity, intuition, empathy, and a curious loving heart. What Thomas truly offers is an invitation into stillness, to be seen with an open heart in a safe healing container, to support a return into alignment with a sacred way of being. Thomas shines brightest when sharing with those who welcome journeying into the unknown, even if it may be a challenging process, to explore what is inhibiting one’s fullest expression, and together we may meet and transform it.

He has been on the medicine path for most of his life, fully committed to holistic vitality by necessity, the wounded healer’s journey, learning how to thrive in developing sensitivity instead of isolating and retreating from the intense world we live in. He has been unavoidably required to completely surrender to a healing journey, to embrace the medicine path or struggle on in pain and suffering. His journey has taken him around world, it’s been the greatest source of learning of life, and the most confronting and humbling experience as well. It has required finding balance and coming into right relationship with himself and with the Earth in order to heal. He is so grateful for his experiences, each one is a brush stroke on the canvas of his life.

Training & Education

Thomas graduated from a Traditional Chinese Medicine program at Pacific Rim College in British Columbia, Canada in 2020. He practiced acupuncture in the USA for a few years prior to his return to practice in British Columbia in 2024. He taught five semester long courses at the local Chinese medicine college in Nelson, BC in the fall of 2024. He has also studied Medical Qi Gong, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, and energy work for many years. Thomas has deeply studied Western herbal medicine for many years through intensive apprenticeships, many professional courses, and much self exploration as well as studying ceremonial plant medicine mediation with many groups and teachers.

Thomas lives for exploring local plant medicines, growing herbs and making medicine, getting to know their essence in a personal way, meditating with the medicines and communicating with the living plants, and sharing this passion with others. He looks forward to teaching his community about holistic plant medicine through workshops, plant spirit meditations, as well as offering empowering education in nutrition, and much more.

Thomas can often be found outside connecting with nature, creating herbal medicines including elixir tonic drinks, offering workshops on Earth connection, magic, and plants, and gathering in intentional circle with community.

He also loves to play, as well as build, the Native American style flute, as well as many other instruments, and he is exploring offering sound healing sessions. He has spent many years learning permaculture on farms, was a professional natural builder, is a food enthusiast, amongst so much more.

In service, gratitude, and devotion to living in deepest alignment with the flow and intelligence of creation. Heart Radiance is the synthesis of Thomas’ life journey and the deepest offerings of his being.
